Description

Ventolin Evohaler 100mcg is a medication used to treat respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains the active ingredient salbutamol, which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways to help improve breathing.  The medication is delivered through an inhaler device known as an Evohaler, which releases a measured dose of the medication as a fine mist to be inhaled into the lungs.

Directions

Using Ventolin Evohaler correctly is crucial for achieving optimal results. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use the inhaler effectively:

Step 1: Check the Inhaler
Before using Ventolin Evohaler, ensure that the plastic case contains an embossed letter "V" to help you identify the inhaler.
Shake the inhaler well to ensure even distribution of the medicine.

Step 2: Prepare for Inhalation
Stand or sit upright and remove the mouthpiece cover.
Check both the inside and outside of the mouthpiece for cleanliness.

Step 3: Breathe Out
Breathe out gently to prepare for inhalation. Do not breathe in again yet.

Step 4: Inhale the Medicine
Place the mouthpiece between your teeth, making sure not to bite.
Start breathing in slowly through your mouth, and while doing so, press down on the top of the canister to release a puff of the medicine.
Continue to breathe in deeply and steadily.

Step 5: Hold Your Breath
Hold your breath for a few seconds after inhaling the medicine.
If your doctor has prescribed two puffs, wait for about half a minute before taking the second puff.

Step 6: Replace the Mouthpiece Cover
After use, immediately replace the mouthpiece cover to keep out dust.
Firmly push and click the cover into position.

Step 7: Clean Your Inhaler
To prevent blockages, clean your inhaler at least once a week.
Remove the metal canister from the plastic casing, rinse the casing under warm water, and dry it thoroughly. Do not immerse the metal canister in water.

Remember, proper technique is essential for effective asthma management. If you're unsure about using Ventolin Evohaler, consult your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist for guidance.
